Nathalia develops and implements the Internationalisation Strategy at Edinburgh Napier University Business School. An active researcher committed to impactful scholarship, Nathalia’s interests span branding, international marketing, business-to-business marketing, sustainability, gender equality and marketing ethics. She regularly presents at international conferences and publishes in peer-reviewed journals. She successfully leads international projects and consultancies across the UK, Europe, and Asia, and frequently delivers seminars to international academic and professional audiences on topics like marketing, women’s empowerment, and the internationalisation of higher education. Nathalia serves on the Chartered Association of Business Schools International Committee and is a board member of the Student Marketing Society Scotland. She is a Visiting Professor at Changchun Guanghua University in China and University Tun Hussein Onn in Malaysia, and an invited member of the Medinge Group, an international think tank promoting conscientious branding and leadership.
Abhi is an Associate Professor in Strategy and Governance at The Business School. He leads the Edinburgh Napier University Business School’s DBA and MBA programmes, and support the development of functional managers and business leaders. He is very committed to driving a cross-sectoral and innovative approach to business education. Abhi strongly believes that every business education should integrate thinking and ideas around business resilience, digitization, entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability transitions. He ensures continued relevance of the curriculum – bringing together both academic theory and the meaningful exposure to real-world business practices to meet the needs of the rapidly changing business environment. He acts as a strong interface between industry and the business school and the wider University.
Dr Eoin Plant-O’Toole is an Associate Professor in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Edinburgh Napier University Business School. Eoin is Head of Research Degrees in the Business School and programme lead for the MSc Global Logistics and Supply Chain Analytics. Eoin is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Ireland. He is also a member of the Governing Council, and chairs CILT Ireland’s Policy Committee.
Eoin has held a number of academic positions in the UK and Ireland. Including head of the National Institute for Transport and Logistics (NITL), and Assistant Head – School of Transport Engineering, Environment and Planning at Technological University Dublin. Eoin has been on national expert advisory panels (Ireland) for logistics and supply chains. He has also published in a variety of international journals. His research is not only focused on the policy level, but also the practical elements for industry.
Dr. Fawad Khaleel is an Associate Professor in Accounting and Finance whose research bridges financial inclusion, alternative finance, and digital education. As Head of Global Online, he drives pedagogical innovation, advancing inclusive, technology-enhanced learning and shaping the future of AI-driven education.
His research explores financial exclusion among marginalized communities, particularly immigrant entrepreneurs in Scotland, uncovering how moral values shape financial decisions. His work highlights alternative financing models, offering finance as a tool for socio-economic justice.
In education, Dr. Khaleel is at the forefront of AI and academic integrity research, analysing assessment design, digital ethics, and student engagement. His studies on AI-resistant assessment designs have influenced policies in online learning.
A recipient of multiple research grants, he has led funded projects on financial literacy, refugee integration, and higher education accessibility. A sought-after speaker, he contributes to policy discussions on Islamic finance and digital education reform.
Dr Henry Huang is a lecturer in financial services. His teaching interests are in the broader areas of accounting and finance. He has taught subjects in finance, risk management, global financial markets, international accounting, contemporary issues in financial reporting, management of financial institutions, and strategic financial management. He also is the programme leader of MSc International Finance and deputy PLs for BA Financial Services (UK) and BA Financial Services (HK).His main research interests lie in the field of accounting and reporting for derivatives, in addition to accounting and finance in China. His PhD thesis was assessing the usefulness of derivative related disclosures by Chinese listed companies. He has developed his expertise in the development of derivatives worldwide particularly in China and good knowledge of IFRS and IAS related regulations.
Dr Kenny Crossan is an Associate Professor of Economics at Edinburgh Napier University. Kenny has held a wide range of positions at ENU and other institutions and is currently the Deputy Head of International (Transnational Education).
Kenny has a wide range of research interests including, governance, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), systems thinking and economic development, with his recent projects focusing on how SMEs can help drive a move towards responsible business practices. Although Kenny’s own education is in economics, he is interested in what economic theory does not tell us about how firms operate in the real world and the implication this has on the economy.
Pauline Anne Gordon is Deputy Head of International (Partnerships) in the Business School at Edinburgh Napier University. Pauline is responsible for developing international partnerships and managing strong collaborative relationships with education providers and agents across the globe. Pauline works with colleagues across the Business School and supports members of the international team to contribute to the university’s international strategy for growth and diversification in various locations such as Europe, Switzerland, UAE, China and Asia. Pauline’s doctoral study and research focus on the transition of international students and is well placed to serve as the Business School’s Link Tutor between Edinburgh Napier University and Oxford International College. The purpose of this role is to support communication between the two entities and ensure the smooth transition of international students. Part of this role also involves providing regular updates, and insights to various committees in the Business School and the wider University. In addition, Pauline is a lecturer at the Business School and is involved in designing and delivering various hospitality and tourism management subjects to domestic and international students. Pauline has comprehensive knowledge of the International Hospitality and Tourism Industry and is a Visiting Faculty Member at the Lovely Professional University, India.
Dr Sibylle Ratz studied in Germany, Russia and the UK and has worked as a teacher, translator, course coordinator and lecturer in Germany and Scotland. She is employed at Edinburgh Napier University as a lecturer for Intercultural Communication and programme leader for the postgraduate Dual Degree and Single Trimester students. Sibylle leads and teaches on several intercultural modules, and is School Academic Lead for PG international articulation. Sibylle’s research areas include Multilingualism, Mobility and Migration.
Dr Yanchao Yu is an Assistant Professor of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Edinburgh Napier University’s School of Computing, Engineering, and the Built Environment (SCEBE). As Recruitment and International Lead for the Computer Science group, he develop global partnerships and international recruitment strategies. He also lead the MSc Computing with Professional Placement, supporting international students’ transition into the UK job market.
Dr Yu’s research focuses on Conversational AI, Human-Robot Interaction, and Multi-modal Intelligence. He leads the EPSRC-funded LoCS project on collaborative storytelling for visual scene understanding and co-investigate the British Council-funded INSPIRE project for international academic collaborations.
With over 30 peer-reviewed publications and awards, including recognition in the Amazon Alexa Prize, he actively contribute to AI research. Dr Yu serves in leadership roles for major conferences and review for top AI journals. As an FHEA Fellow, he teach Machine Learning, Data Analytics, and Software Development, emphasizing hands-on, research-driven learning.
Dr. Yan Zhuang, a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and Business School Academic Lead for Global Online, specialises in online programme development and management. She is dedicated to driving pedagogical innovation and fostering community engagement in online and distance learning environments. Her research interests encompass international business, sustainability, and global management strategies. Yan has presented her work at international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals. Through her teaching and research, she aims to advance innovative education and support impactful global collaborations.
