Arif is a PhD candidate in Medical Informatics at the University of Edinburgh. His PhD research leverages routinely collected primary care data across the UK to develop AI models that support clinicians in asthma management. With over eight years of research experience, he has worked on projects involving machine learning, electronic health records, genomics, and wearable data analysis. He has led multiple research and industry projects as a team leader and project manager, overseeing data-driven solutions mainly in the healthcare area. Additionally, he has over five years of teaching experience in computer science and data science-related courses such as Health Data Science, Research Methodologies, and AI for Care in The Digital Age.
