Biography

Darius Yonatan Nama, S.Pd., M.TESOL, is an educator, researcher, and translator/interpreter specializing in English language teaching and special needs education with a Master’s in TESOL from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia, and a Bachelor’s in English Education from Universitas PGRI-NTT, Indonesia. Currently, he is a lecturer at Citra Bangsa University and an educational facilitator for Indonesia’s Ministry of Education and Culture, focusing on the Merdeka Curriculum.

He has taught courses in TEFL, translation, research methods, and public speaking while mentoring students in national English debating competitions. His past roles include Project Officer at Save the Children International, where he led early childhood literacy programs and teacher training workshops to support inclusive education, literacy development, and parental engagement in early childhood and basic education. Additionally, he has years of experience as an English tutor, teaching learners from beginner to advanced levels.

He has received research grants and a doctoral scholarship from the Indonesian government to pursue a Doctorate. He was a finalist in the National University English Debating Championship (NUEDC) and later served as a national adjudicator. His academic excellence earned him the prestigious Australian Development Scholarship (ADS) for his master’s degree.
